Going Home

(3:51)

Verse 1

My heart aches to see you once again.

I know that you are looking down from Heaven.

I would have loved to see you meet the Lord,

The Lord up in the air.

I would have loved to hear you say,

As you beheld your Creator.

Chorus

I’m going home, precious Lord.

This new life is my reward.

So take my hand, and lead me on,

To a better place.

Now I see your face.

It’s so beautiful and clear.

Verse 2

I miss your face. It’s always in my dreams.

How very temporary this life seems.

Life is just a shadow of the one that is to come.

But when I take my final breath,

Let me hear you say, “Well done”.

Then I’ll know.

Chorus

I’m going home, precious Lord.

This new life is my reward.

So take my hand, and lead me on,

To a better place.

Now I see your face.

It’s so beautiful and clear.

Bridge

Now turn your face toward Heaven,

And consider your last day.

As you look to meet your maker,

Will you be able to say?

Ending

I’m going home.

I’m going home.
